     Rolly Edward Hauptmann, 81 of Macon, a retired educator, died Monday, July 16, 1990, in Samaritan Memorial Hospital in Macon. He was a former resident of Wyaconda.
     Services were conducted Thursday, July 19, in the Hudson-Rimer Park View Chapel in Kirksville by the Rev. Thomas Sullenger. Entombment was in the Linville Mausoleum in Edina.
     Mr. Hauptmann was born Nov. 15, 1908, in Wyaconda, a son of John and Anna Phelps Hauptmann. He married Pearl Vandiver Aug. 10, 1930, in Kirksville. She survives.
     Mr. Hauptmann attended Wyaconda Schools, graduated from Northeast Missouri State in 1930, and attended the University of Missouri in Cloumbia and Iowa State University. He served as a teacher and principle of schools in Atlanta and LaPlata before moving to Iowa in 1941, where he taught vocational agriculture in the Mount Ayr school system, retiring in 1973.
     The Hauptmann moved to Macon in 1978. He had received many teaching awards and held many offices in the Iowa Vocational Agriculture Teachers Association. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church in LaPlata and had been a Sunday school teacher.
     Survivors also include a sister, Mrs. Vivian Truitt Bagley of Kansas City; and two nephews, Donald Truitt of Chicago and Dan Danzer of Albuquerque, N. M. He was preceded in death by two sisters and a brother.
