Mrs. Irving Hayden, the former Emily Etta Hayden, daughter of Joseph S. and Ella Dalton Raine, was born near Clark City, Missouri, January 1, 1882, and departed this life at Ellis Fishel Hospital, Columbia, MO, Nov. 4, 1953 at 12:30 a.m. being at the time of her death aged 71 years, 10 months and 3 days.
On January 8, 1900 she was united in marriage to Irving Hayden. To this union one son was born. Her husband preceded her in death in April 1923; also her parents, two brothers, Will and Ode Raine, and a grand-daughter Lorena Jeanne.
She leaves to mourn her death her son, Raymond Hayden, and wife, of Wyaconda, one grandson Raymond Hayden Jr., of Lost Cabin, Wyoming, two great grandsons, Billy Ray Varnold and Sonny Hayden; one brother, Sam Raine of Grand Junction, Colorado, a number of nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
She united with the New Woodville Baptist Church at an early age and held her membership there until her death.
Mrs. Hayden was self sacrificing, always putting herself last, thinking of her family and friends. She was a loving mother, a kind friend and a good neighbor She will be missed by all who knew her.
Funeral services were held from the Baptist Church, Wyaconda, Friday, Nov. 6, at 2 p.m., conducted by the Rev. H. I. Cull.
Burial was in the New Woodville church cemetery.
