PNEUMONIA PROVES FATAL
Isabell
Webster, was the daughter, of Vardiman and Emily
Webster, and was born in Boone county, Kentucky, July 1st. 1837 and
died (---missing information---) teen years old, her parents moved from
Kentucky to Clark county, Missouri, where she grew to womanhood and was married
to Hezikah Foree, March 25th
, 1860. To this union, one child was
born, the late W. V. Foree. They came from Clark county, Missouri, to the
opening of the strip and made homestead entry on a farm and have lived on it
ever since. They were known far and near
as “Uncle Hez” and “Aunt Isabel.”
“Uncle Hez”
died in 1907. Aunt Isabell and her son,
“Billy” lived on the farm until last August when his tragic death occurred,
leaving his poor, old, invalid mother alone.
Since then she has made her home for most of the time with her nephew,
T. M. Webster. She leaves one brother
and one sister, in Kansas; one brother in Missouri; and one sister, Mrs. John
H. Sturgeon, of Ames, to mourn their loss, besides a host of nephews, nieces
and friends. Her father was a Baptist
preacher and she was raised and died in that faith. Everything that loving hands could do to relieve
her suffering and prolong her life was done but to no avail. Her system was too weak to withstand the
savages of the disease and her spirit longed to be free.
