OBITUARY
Mrs. T. P. House

Ila Z. Hottle was the only daughter of Isaac and Margaret Kraus Hottle. She was
born at old Rainbow, near Gorin, MO., on November 20, 1884 and died in Keokuk,
Iowa on February 17, 1952, at the age of 67 years, 2 months and 28 days. She
grew up in the community southwest of Fairmont and whiles a young woman made
a profession of the Christian faith, uniting with the Colony Baptist church.

She was married to Thomas P. House at Kahoka, MO. On December 24, 1907.
Three daughters were born to them Helen Marie, who died at the age of two,
Lorena, now Mrs. Everett McDonald, and Nelda Mae, now Mrs. Fred Supper. They
lived on a farm in the neighborhood where she had grown up until 1923, when
they moved to Wyaconda and operated a hardware store for several years. They
have been residents of Wyaconda since that time with the exception of a few years
spent in Keokuk, during and immediately following the last war.

For the past several years, Mrs. House had been in poor health and suffered
numerous physical discomforts, the past two years being a constant struggle with
pain. Despite all these afflictions, she went about her daily duties and always had
a cheerful word. Hers was indeed a blithe and gallant sprit and Heaven must be a
brighter place for the presence of such as she.

She is survived by her husband, who has cared for her most tenderly her two
daughters, Mrs. Everrett McDonald of Kankakee, Ill and Mrs. Fred Supper of New
York City, Two granddaughters, Sandra and Patricia McDonald, her aged mother,
Mrs. Margaret Hottle of Wyaconda, three brothers Leo and Roy Hottle of Wyaconda,
and Dell Hottle of Portland, Oregon, also many other relatives and close friends.
One brother Oka Hottle preceded her in death.

Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Wyaconda
Baptist church, in charge of the Rev. George Baskett with burial in the Wyaconda
cemetery. Mrs. Harold Clough, Mrs. Kenneth Fry, and Mrs. B. F. Hutchinson sang,
with Mrs. George Baskett at the piano. Pallbearers were: E. B. Kutz, Irvin Bertram,
James Blake, J. C. Bowman, John Deatrick and Clay Sharts.

Among those from a distance who attended Mrs. House's funeral service were a
son-in-low and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. E. L. McDonald and children; Mr. and Mrs.
W. F. McDonald, Kankakee, Illinois; Mrs. Agnes Packwood, Brazil, Indiana. Mr. and
Mrs. Del K Hottle Portland, Oregon, Mrs. Bessie McWilliams, Kansas City, MO.
Besides many from nearby towns. A daughter Mrs. Fred Supper, New York City, N.
Y., was unable to attend on account of illness in the family.

Mr. and Mrs. J. T. Cameron and Mr. and Mrs. Ed Riggs attended the funeral of Mrs.
T. P. House at Wyaconda Baptist church Wednesday of last week.
