John Buck (Hoppy) Hauptmann, 43, of Memphis, Missouri died on December 4, 1989.
     Services were held on December 7 at the First Christian Church in Wyaconda with the Reverend William Mitchell officiating. The organ music was provided by Denis Mathes. The pallbearers were: Gene Paul, Mike Spear, Dean Barber, Bob Ebeling, Gary Ebeling and Wesley Knupp. Burial was in the Wyaconda Cemetery in Wyaconda. The arrangements were handled by the Payne-Gerth Funeral Chapels in Memphis. The family has suggested memorials to the Leukemia Society of America and Lops Foundation of America.
     Mr. Hauptmann was the son of James Hauptmann of Canton and Myrta Mae Hauptmann of Keokuk, Iowa and he was born on August 2, 1946. He was united in marriage to Karen Sue Skinner at the Christian Church in Carrollton on April 2, 1967 by his uncle the Reverend John Buck. To this union four children were born and they were: Jeffry Brad, Buffey Jo, Bobbi Jo and Joshua Blaine.
     Surviving are: his father; mother; wife; children; a sister: Mrs. Robert M (Jane Ann) Clifton of Wyaconda; several nephews; a niece; and other relatives and friends.
     Mr. Hauptmann was a member of the First Christian Church of Wyaconda and he was baptized on November 4, 1956. He was a 1964 graduate of Wyaconda C-1 High School. He served in the U.S. Army from July 1966 until 1968 in Fort Leonard Wood. He was enlisted in the Army National Guard from February, 1977 to December 1980. He was a member of the Memphis V.F.W. Post No. 4948.
