John "Jake" Clough

Jake Clough, 15, of Fairway, KS, passed away at Childrens Mercy Hospital on Tuesday, March 22, 2005.
Jake loved spending time with his family, especially the annual family vacation to Florida. Jake's interests were vary diverse and included riding his bike, attending University of Missouri football games and learning the game of golf with his dad, planting flowers, and walking the family dog while arm-in-arm with his mother, watching movies with his sister, and weekend family slumber parties in front of the fireplace.
Jack's good natured disposition and heart of gold won him many friends in the short time he spent with us. Jake was especially close to his grandfather John O'Connor, Jr., who preceded him in death in March 2000.
After Jake's resent accident he was blessed with an outpouring of support from friends, family and countless others in Kansas City, throughout the US and around the world. This support, Jakes faith God and the heroic efforts of the University of Kansas Hospital Neurosurgery Intensive Care Unit allowed Jake's family and friends an additional three weeks with this very special young man. During this time Jake provided his visitors with countless hugs, kisses, smiles, and thumbs up sings. Jake's family will be forever grateful for these precious moments when we reflect back on his life.
Jake is survived by his sister, Liza; mother Joan (Otis) and father Tom; grandparents Joey O'Connor of KS and Dorothy and Harold Clough of Liberty, formerly of Kahoka and Wyaconda; and a number of aunts, uncles and cousins.
A memorial service was held Saturday, March 26.
