A. D. Suter
Asbury D. Suter, son of A. T. M. and Sarah Baskett Suter, passed away at his home near Wyaconda, Missouri, July 12, 1936, at 4:45 p.m. He was born December 12, 1855; hence he was aged 80 years and 7 (seven) months.
Mr. Suter was married to Emma Catherine Lasswell, March 18, 1880. To this union, seven children were born, five sons and two daughters, two sons, Foster M. and Homer A., having preceded him to the better land.
He leaves to mourn his loss, his wife, Mrs. Suter, three sons, and two daughters, Lloy M. Suter of Los Angeles, Henry C. Suter and Elsworth C. Suter of Wyaconda, Mrs. Leona A. Faught of Kansas City, and Mrs. Bertie E. Morton of Hollywood, Calif.; also one brother, Garlin T Suter of near Wyaconda; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two step-granddaughters, besides other relatives and a host of friends and acquaintances.
The funeral was held Wednesday, July 15, at 10 a. m., in the old family Bear Creek church, of which he has been a member for the past sixty years. Services were conducted by Rev. L. B. Arvin of Bunker Hill.
The songs were "Good Night and Good Morning," "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere," and "Rock of Ages" sung by Ralph Jenkins, Charley Howard, Louis, and Lucille Jenkins, with Miss Lydia Ewing accompanist.
The pallbearers were: C. O. Lee, F. M. Clifton, A. McNealy, George Phillips, Chas. Jenkins, and Hurley Coffman.
Burial was in the Bear Creek cemetery
