REES-RAINEY
Miss Leona Maxine Rainey, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lester Rainey of Wyaeonda, Mo, and Lieutenant John Embree Reel, Jr., son of Rev. and . Mrs. John E. Reel of Fort Madison, Iowa, were married Saturday morning, January 30, at 11:00 in the Union Presbyterian church at Fort Madison.
The military and double ring ceremony, was performed by Rer. Rees who wore the uniform of a major In the U. S. Army. Rev. Walter L. Turney, pastor of the Presbyterian church assisted with the service.
Lohengrin's Wedding March was played on the organ by Miss Celeste Jamerson as the bride entered the church on the arm of her father, who gave her in marriage. "I Love You Truly", '0 Promise Me" and "Because" were also played by Miss Jamerson during the service.
The bride wore a street length dress of soldier blue with black accessories and wore a corsage of gardenias. Her only attendant, her sister, wore a rose colored dress with brown accesories. Her corsage was of pink roses wlth lavender iris.
The bridegroom wore his lieutenant's uniform as did his best man and brother-in-law, Charles F. Stein. John Krieger and Fred Skewes were the ushers.
As the bridal party left the church. Miss Jamerson played Mendelsshon's Recessional on the organ.
The brides mother, wore, a black dinner dress and her corsage was of narcissus.
The bridegrooms mother wore a dark blue dress and her corsage was also narcissus.
A luncheon wae held in the Rees home following the ceremony for the members of the bridal party and the immediate families. The couple left on a short wedding trip that evening. A wedding dinner has been planned for tomorrow evening at the home of the bride's parents In Wyaconda.
Mrs. Rees graduated from the Wyaconda high school in Wyaconda, Mo., and Lieut. Rees graduated from the Fort Madison high school, attended the business college here, Coe college and Beuna Vista college. He left school to enter the armed services.
The couple will make their home in Hampton Roads, Virginia, where Lieut. Rees is stationed.
