OBITUARY

 

WICKHAM.

 

James Wickham died at his home near Luray Thursday morning, Feb. 1, 1912, at 3 o’clock at the age or 79 years and 14 days, after a long illness.

The funeral services will be held at the Luray M. E. church, Saturday morning at 11 o’clock, and interment in Luray cemetery.

James Wickham, son of Salathiel and Drusilla Wickham, natives of New York, was born in Muskingum county, Ohio, Jan. 17, 1843.

The Wickhams moved to Keokuk, Iowa, in 1847, and to Luray, Clark county, Missouri, in 1856.

James Wickham was a member of the home guards during the civil war and participated in the battle of Athens.

He was married to Lizzie Harmon in Keokuk in 1858.

To them were born six children, of whom three survive, Jacob and Charles Wickham, of this city, and a sister, Mrs. Sarah R. Harmon, of Keokuk.

He was a devoted Christian, being a member of the M. E. church.
