OBITUARY

 

MRS. PAUL KURTZ

Mrs. Paul Kurtz died in Chicago, Illinois Tuesday evening, August 11, 1936, at 8 o’clock. She was apparently well on the way to recovery following a major operation a number of days ago, when death resulted suddenly, due to embolism.

Merten Hayden and Eugene Kurtz went to Chicago, at once, returning Thursday, accompanying Paul Kurtz with the body. The funeral services will be held from the New Woodville church, Saturday, August 15 at 10 o’clock a. m. with burial in the church cemetery. Rev. W. A. Kleckner of Hannibal will officiate.

Mrs. Kurtz was formerly Miss Bernice Hayden, a daughter of Ed. and Evalina Etheridge Hayden and was born near New Woodville Baptist church, Clark county, Missouri, August 5, 1900. After her marriage to Mr. Kurtz, they located in Chicago, where he was engaged in the mail service.

Besides her husband, Mr. Kurtz, she is survived by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Hayden, two brothers, Stanley Hayden of Kirksville and Merten Hayden of Wyaconda; one sister, Mrs. Al Clough of Wyaconda, besides many other relatives and a wide circle of friends.
