Virginia Fay Black Domecq was born in 1917 in Goltry, Oklahoma. At the age of 9 months she moved with her family to Fairmont, Missouri, where the family resided until March of 1929.
Due to the health concerns of her mother, the family moved to Denair, California, which was her home for many years. Virginia graduated from Denair Grammar School and Denair High School in 1935. After graduation she went to work as secretary to Superintendent Thomas Simms. While working there she took night courses toward a teaching credential. She was awarded a Provisional Credential and started teaching in the Denair Elementary School, later transferring to the Junior High School. She completed work for her regular Teaching Credential through courses offered by San Francisco State College at Modesto Junior College. She retired from teaching in 1976.
Virginia was married to William Gilbert Domecq of Denair for over 60 years. She is the mother of two sons, Ross Domecq and Gary Domecq, both deceased. She is survived by one sister, Berniece Black, one granddaughter; one grandson; one niece, and daughter-in-law. She was preceded in death by her brother, Marvin Lee Black.
Virginia was a member of the Denair Missionary Church for 50 years, later joining the Evangelical Free Church of Turlock. She was active in Christian work all her adult life.
A Graveside Service will be held on Monday, December 1st, 1:00 pm, at Denair Cemetery, 2501 E. Zeering Road in Denair.
